It's Only Temporary

(Words and music: Patrick Gadola)

Did they spell your name wrong at the spelling be?
Did this shatter your illusion of prosperity?
Tell me what’s the explanation, I’m sure I don’t know
I’m often left with the feeling it’s time for me to go

And someone is always ready to start up a war
And there’s always something spilling and messing up the floor
Tell me what do the anthropologist say ...
About all the things that time has stained

All the things that time has stained

Did they tell you you would get what you want eventually?
If I got a tattoo it would be the words ‘It’s only temporary’
The thing to learn, is how to let go
I know I’m not much help, but I thought you should know

I thought you should know
I thought you should know

Lamenting lost momentum, trying to write the pain away
Burned twenty years of bad poetry, at least I can see I’ve changed
Saved a few highlights so it wasn’t all a waste
And now I feel I can safely fade away

And now I can safely fade away
And now I can safely fade away
