Passenger Seat

(Words and music: Patrick Gadola)

As if I knew a place to go to find a good time
I wanted you to come with me, so I could see you smile
And I could look in your eyes, without you looking away
And I would be there for you, each and every day

But I'm not lucky enough to have things that way
All I have in this world I appreciate
But I have no good way of dealing with rejection
Don't confuse my sadness for a lack of appreciation

Wouldn't it be wonderful if you were by my side?
We would be good for each other with no feelings to hide
We could go places together, then together return home
But instead my passenger seat is empty, I'm all alone

As if I knew a place to go to find a good time
I wanted you to come with me and stay by my side
We would be good for each other, support each other well
But instead I travel alone, locked in my own shell

Wouldn't it be wonderful if you were by my side?
We would be good for each other with no feelings to hide
We could go places together, then together return home
But instead my passenger seat is empty, I'm all alone

Wouldn't it be wonderful if you were by my side?
We would be good for each other with no feelings to hide
We could go places together, then together return home
But instead my passenger seat is empty, I'm all alone
