What Good News?
(Words and music: Patrick Gadola)

I've got to keep improving myself, they tell me all the time
Then they get upset when I ask why
I spend all my time surviving day by day and
I already know things won't get better today
After-death breath mints
Smiles in the grave, maybe
I haven't been in a good mood
Since I was a baby
What good news? I don't see it
What good new? I don't feel it like you do
What good news? I don't see it
What good new? I don't feel it like you do
At five o'clock I wake up, a nightmare in my mind
At six o'clock I get up, so I won't fall behind
At seven I leave for work, the weather rains on me
At eight o'clock my day begins it seems a waste to me
I have an hour for my lunch I don't get very far
When my day is over I get back into my car
I try to make it all worthwhile in the time that I have left
And I do this every day and look forward to my death
After-death breath mints
Smiles in the grave, maybe
I haven't been in a good mood
Since I was a baby
What good news? I don't see it
What good new? I don't feel it like you do
What good news? I don't see it
What good new? I don't feel it like you do
You've got me thoroughly convinced life is tough
Whatever I give to you will never be enough
I spend all my time surviving day by day and
I already know things won't get better today
After-death breath mints
Smiles in the grave, maybe
I haven't been in a good mood
Since I was a baby
What good news? I don't see it
What good new? I don't feel it like you do
What good news? I don't see it
What good new? I don't feel it like you do
